Katarzyna Brzezinska

Katarzyna Brzezinska is a polish performer/dancer/artist with a background in Dance ( Schule für Tanz, Improvisation und Performance in Freiburg), Physical Theatre ( Denmark) and Visual Art (Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Poland) as well as movement therapist in Ilan Lev Method.

At the moment her dance research is focused on deep physicality, improvisation, contemporary, release and somatic techniques.

She loves improvisation as an art form, mainly for its ability to be fully inspired by poetry of the present moment, to create a space where the logic and absurdity meet and that all possibilities can occur out of nowhere.

She has been learning the art of Improvisation from the main stream improvisation dancers: Julyen Hamilton, Maya M.Carrol, Emmanuel Grivet, Benoit Lachambre and others.

As a performer as well as choreographer she is most interested in the embodied voice of human strength and vulnerability.

“When I watch a performance, I want to be touched, surprised, confronted with questions or be left with some changes in my mind or body…I want that art triggers something inside me, so I can be awakened, so I can grow, so I can transform. When I perform or create a piece I wish the same for me, as well as for the audience”.

Dance gives her possibility to share, to listen, to be, to connect….
