As an artist, Irene Carreno feels a strong attraction for the physical complexity of the human body.  Her priority in work is body awareness starting with the bones and moving to the skin as well as the various mechanics of movement. She believes that in increasing the natural use of the senses, one also unlocks the natural creativity for creating a pure art.

Therefore, she places importance on the development of her own expressive languages, knowing they will disappear faster than they appear and as they are often reflected within individual and group compositions in daily life as well as in the surrealistic images created for the stage and/or site-specific compositions.

The human being is also a soured of inspiration for Irene, she finds inspiration in people’s behavior and their relationship with the environment around them. She has an aim to stimulate the thinking and the questioning of the audience inviting them to search for messages between the lines, or more precisely, between the curtains.
